Getting Started with Open Education is a practical introduction for faculty, staff, and campus leaders who are new to open education or want to strengthen their foundation.
In this session, participants will:
Learn what open education is and how it’s commonly defined
See concrete examples of how open education shows up in teaching, campus initiatives, and system-level efforts
Explore why open education matters for access, affordability, and instructional practice
Get oriented to the open education community and where to find resources, beginning with the Open Education Association’s Getting Started Guide.
The 60-minute presentation will be recorded and posted online following the event. Live participants are welcome to stay for an optional 30-minute Q&A with small-group discussions.
This event is open to the public, and open education advocates are encouraged to promote this event to your communities.
